The situation of Women in Libya

This report provides a broad summary of the challenges currently facing Libyan women. Jusoor has focused the report on five major areas: structural exclusion from politics and decision-making roles, the impact of arbitrary rule on violations of a woman’s dignity especially through sexual violence, the effect of war on public health maternity centers, the impact of civil war on the Libyan economy as well as the systematic exclusion of women from the labor market and finally, certain challenges faced by women with the international community’s support for development in Libya.
