This compilation of papers was published in preparation for a regional report on gender and institutional reforms.

It contains scientific papers by researchers from the Arab World and beyond.

The papers address the relationship between trade liberalization and the feminization of the labor market, trade liberalization and the dynamics of the of female employment and gender policies and trade liberalization in the Middle East and North Africa.

The report aims to provide critical readings on the effects of trade liberalization on the economic situation of women, draw the attention of researchers an decision – markers to the importance of addressing the issue and shed light on the rapid pace of the impacts of globalization an trade liberalization and its failure to address gender approaches.

The publication received support from the World Bank and was published in cooperation with the Middle East and North Africa Development Forum.
